Reactive Dyes
USE FOR: Immersion (tub) dyeing and controlled dyeing processes requiring fixation.
USE ON: Primarily wool and other protein fibers. Suitable for loose fiber, sliver, yarn, fabric, and finished garments.
Dyer Depot reactive dyes for wool are high-performance dyes designed to form a strong bond with protein fibers, producing deep, bright shades with excellent durability. These dyes are known for their strong fixation, good exhaustion, and reliable repeatability, making them well suited for both solid colours and carefully controlled colour work.
This dye range is balanced for compatibility and even dyeing, including trichromatic combinations across a wide range of depths. Colours build cleanly and predictably, and the system performs well on different fiber forms, from yarn skeins to finished garments. Results depend on dye concentration, pH, temperature, and process control, so sampling is strongly recommended when colour accuracy matters.
Wool and fiber type, water chemistry, and technique can influence final results. For consistent outcomes, follow the recommended dyeing parameters and adjust concentration based on the depth of shade desired. Finished items should be rinsed and washed according to proper after-treatment guidelines for reactive dyes on wool.

Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.

Fiber Reactive Dyes for Wool – General Information
Dyer Depot Fiber Reactive Dyes for Wool are highly permanent dyes designed specifically for protein fibers such as wool and silk. These dyes combine reactive and acid dye chemistry to produce extremely durable colour with excellent wash and light fastness. Once fixed, the colour remains stable even with hot water washing or processes such as felting, making them a preferred choice for dyers who require maximum colour permanence.
These dyes are highly concentrated and fully intermixable, allowing dyers to create a wide range of shades and custom colour blends. They produce rich, saturated colours and strong fixation when used at the correct temperature and acidity.
Dyeing Behavior
Fiber reactive dyes for wool require high heat and an acidic environment to fix properly. When the dyebath reaches the fixation temperature, the dyes tend to bond quickly with the fiber, which can produce very strong colour but also requires careful control if perfectly even results are desired.
For solid and level dyeing, many dyers use auxiliary leveling agents or buffering salts to help slow the dye strike and promote more even migration through the fiber. These additions allow the dye to distribute more uniformly before fixation occurs.
Preparing Fiber
As with all dyeing processes, fibers should be clean and thoroughly wetted before dyeing. Oils, residues, or finishing agents can prevent even dye penetration and lead to uneven colour. Allowing enough water and space for the fiber to move freely in the dyebath also helps produce more consistent results.
Dissolving the Dye
The dye powder should be fully dissolved in hot water before adding to the dyebath. Preparing a smooth dye solution helps prevent undissolved particles and ensures even colour distribution.
Rinsing & Care
After dyeing, rinse the fiber thoroughly and wash in warm to cool water to remove excess dye. Because of their strong fixation, these dyes produce very wash-resistant colours, making them well suited for items that will experience frequent washing or exposure to hot water.
Safe Handling
Handle dye powders carefully and follow good studio practice. Use gloves, proper ventilation, and protective equipment, and keep dyes out of reach of children and pets.
